Whats in store for 2009? Fate or Destiny?

So we are a few days into 2009 - what do you predict for this year? I thought I would wait a few days to post this to see what others were saying. There are predictions of a light global depression this year and after the chaos in the global economy in 2008 I guess it is pretty likely. But what else is in store?

I think there will be some changes around the internet this year. Facebook is becoming old hat so the next big thing in "networking" on-line I believe is on the way. Friendfeed will be one to watch - lets see if Google buys them out at the very least. Openid will grow more this year - I wonder if Facebook will finally embrace it. I think Yahoo will finally sell up this year - the question is to whom.

Other predictions, I hope that finally this year Mugabe either, quits or finally the rest of the world stands up and deposes him. I do think though that much worse is in store for Zimbabwe this year sadly before it gets better. In Zambia I think that inflation will continue to rise this year making the gap between rich and poor even bigger.

One prediction I would like to come true is that my football team West Ham stays up - but the jury is out on that one!

The real question though is will you be driven by "fate" and inevitability this year or will you shape your destiny and have a fantastic 2009?
